Leadership

Jody is a native of Maiden, NC and has been preaching since he was 15 years old. He has studied extensively at Fruitland Baptist Bible College, Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, Southeastern Theological Seminary and Southern Seminary. He loves people and enjoys walking along side others while serving and growing in Christ. Jody is married to Charity and has two daughters: Annabelle and Caroline. His hobbies include knife collecting and grilling/cooking. He is glad to now call Carroll County home.

Martin, our associate pastor, handles many daily tasks and provides support for our Senior Pastor, Jody Short.  Martin recently retired from management and has been married to his wife Karen for 47 years. They have two children and two grandchildren. 

Brittany manages our day-to-day Church office and leads our growing Children's Ministry at Resurrection Church. If you have any questions about Sunday morning services or Children's ministry, please get in touch with her anytime.

Sheena leads our worship team and our Sunday morning worship experience. She hopes to see people develop a love for God through worship and song. Sunday morning worship at Resurrection begins with God's people lifting up His name, letting go of our burdens, and joining together in song and praise. Sheena teaches Geometry for the Carroll County Public School System.
Sheena and her husband, Adam, have two children.

Charity has a B.A. in Youth Ministries and a rich history in working with youth.  She is married to Jody and has two daughters.  Student Ministries at Resurrection is where teens can find real Biblical solutions to everyday problems. We are also a place where teens can learn how to navigate and thrive in a sometimes challenging world. We count it a true blessing to be part of Student Ministries and watch teens grow in the knowledge and fullness of Christ.  

Jr. Youth at Resurrection is where pre-teens can find real Biblical solutions to everyday problems. We are also a place where pre-teens and kids can learn how to navigate and thrive in a sometimes challenging world. Jessica has two classes she teaches, grades kindergarten through 2nd and grades 3rd-5th.  If your child is interested in participating in one of these groups, contact Jessica.  Jessica works as a nursing teacher for the Carroll County Public School System.  She is married to Cody, and they have three children.  

God is at work here in Carroll County and among the nations, and he has called all Christians to be an active part of his mission. We firmly believe that every member of the church can be a part of this task. We call all of Resurrection's local service  Resurrection Relief.

Sam works in the finance industry, and you may find him at the local CrossFit gym in Hillsville.

If you need help with the church app settings and notifications on your phone, check in with Dustin Jones.  Most every Sunday, you will find Dustin helping our church family connect to the latest technology and media at Resurrection Church.
Dustin works in the I.T. field, teaching for the Carroll County Public School Systems. Dustin is married to his wife Sara Jo; they have one child and also serve as foster parents.

Lauren leads our Women’s Ministry here at Resurrection Church. She has a passion for Christ and for seeing women find strength and encouragement through fellowship with one another. Her goal is that women will find this group to be a safe haven to come as you are and recognize that you are not alone in your daily struggles. She is a wife and a mother and is a local to Carroll County. She loves her job as a Dental Hygienist, and also enjoys a good book or a float down the river in her kayak!

Justin leads our Men’s Ministry at Resurrection Church. He has a passion for discipleship and speaking with men to grow their spiritual journey. Justin is a husband and father. He grew up in southwestern North Carolina on the other end of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  He is an engineer and can be caught outdoors or cheering on the Green Bay Packers or North Carolina Tarheels.
